La structure du zome peut également servir pour réaliser des extensions d’habitation. La structure des zomes est particulièrement bien adaptée pour créer des espaces de soins, de méditation ou de travail.

Alterhabitat a créé une ossature en modifiant légèrement la structure pour permettre de réaliser un accès (porte) facile et sécurisé. En option, on peut prévoir dans l’ossature : des losanges pour recevoir une rosace, des châssis pour recevoir des fenêtres triangulaires, un habillage en OSB sur toute la surface, un pare pluie pour protéger l’ensemble.
